London- a town in south-eastern part of Great Britain, the capital of the  country, as well as the capital of England. Its story goes back to its founding by the Romans, who called it Londinium. Located on the Thames, London is the second largest city in Europe, it is also one of the largest cities in the world. Population of London is around 8.2 million people.

 The city is the headquarters of the Royal Society. There are numerous museums and galleries that attract tourists from all over the world. The most famous tourist attractions are:  the British Museum, National Gallery, Tate Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum. London is also associated with a huge number of beautiful parks :Hyde Park, St. James’s Park, Green Park, Regent’s Park and many others.

London is a major global city and one of the world’s largest financial centres. It has a diverse range of cultures and religions, and more than 300 languages are spoken within its boundaries.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is one of the strangest places in   the world.People built it about 5,000 years  ago, but no one knows why. Some people believe, that  Stonehenge is a landing area for vehicles which arrived on the Earth from other planets, an ancient calendar or a temple. The place is very mysterious. This incredible collection of stones is                                called  “stone gallows” or “dance the giants”.
